I am about 100% sure that I have a new hobby. VEIL DYING!!!!!

I know I have these great pals in Reno(Veils by Bill/Designs by Janie) who've made a veil for me before(totally gorgeous). However, there is nothing so satisfying than opening up that fabric when done and having your thoughts, efforts and hopefulness greet you on silk!

Now I'm not saying that I am remotely good or semi hope to have a silk veil come out remotely semi good I'm just saying that the whole process is very satisfying.

Thanks very much to TC and Gail for a very fun fab experience!

Roll up your sleeves and dye!

Welcome to the wonderful world of dyeing! How did you know that is what I'm doing today!!! Not dyeing veils today, way to windy and cold out here in Reno. I was dyeing Burn-out Silk Velvet Jackets and Silk Scarves.
Please post pictures of your new creation --- I'd love to see it.
    Luv Ya,
    Janie

Ya know I was experiencing that last nite as I was rinsing mine out in the tub. I'd used Chinese red and my tub looked like I butchered something wicked in it!!! HEEHEEHEEHEE!

Leah~ I was scrubbing my hands like Lady Macbeth wishing those damn spots out!

Sasha~ I don't think I'm ready to take orders quite yet. My first ever costume was made for me and bought by Zoraya so that is exactly how far I haven't been brave enough to venture out with my adventures. When I get brave with dye and silk I'll call ya!:) Thanks for the support.

Janie~ No one can replace you and Bill(Joyce for that matter) for fabulous gorgeous hand dyed silk veils. Sometimes I feel like I'm trying to do things she did to keep close to her memory. I know she really loved the artistic process and I've just enough artistic sense in me to create a mess! Anyway. It was a fun day and when I get a moment of "oh what the hay!" I'll be brave and put my veils on my tribe pix page.

I dye I dye to make a mess I dye! It's off to dye it's off to dye it's off to dye I go!!

Yes, dyeing IS messy ... no it is very messy. LOL I think that is why Bill and I have never tried to host a veil dyeing workshop.
