I didn't think I'd be able to find any aspiring ME musicians in the Phoenix area, but when I started setting up classes, people came out with stories like they play western violin/fiddle but always wanted to learn Arabic style. I actually met a lot of cool musicians here who I never knew existed, and they come to the workshops pretty regularly. Some even come from out of state because the classes are so hard to come by. There's a couple from Las Vegas who drives down to Phoenix to take Souhail's drum classes and drum solo dance classes when he's here. So you never know. She has been fairly hands on as far as bringing Suhail Kaspar and other great musicians to our Valley of the Sun. Dave(Frankus, also on tribe) is very active in our bd community. We are very lucky to have Gaby Tawil drumming for us. I was lucky enough to spend a few minutes with him and he really put some perspective on my zilling.
