Wiggles of the West and The Las Vegas Belly Dance Intensive are joining forces to bring you a fabulous event. Though both events will remain in the hands of their current owners, we have decided to unite to make one big event. We will have contest, workshops, shows, and SHOPPING!! The best of both events rolled up into one. Can you say PARTY!!!!!!!

I know a lot of Tribe members here, have been interested in coming to Wiggles and now it will only be 4 hours away!!

LOL.... It's great to read your enthusiasm!! Yes, we are pretty flippin' excited. It'll be awesome to have such a comprehensive bellydance event here in the Entertainment Capital of the World. We are hoping to keep it at Palace Station, as they have been great to work with thus far and have really awesome amenities (free shuttle from the airport).

Yes, get those wiggle butt pants glittered up with some sparklies!!!

Yes, we have a couple of drum and music classes. Truthfully, I'd like to see a whole track for musicians, but that will take time to develop as our local music scene is fairly lacking.
      • We need to get our PHX Gal Elissa up there. She has been fairly hands on as far as bringing Suhail Kaspar and other great musicians to our Valley of the Sun. Dave(Frankus, also on tribe) is very active in our bd community. We are very lucky to have Gaby Tawil drumming for us. I was lucky enough to spend a few minutes with him and he really put some perspective on my zilling.

Also, keep in mind Elissa is a pretty hot drummer herself. She is cute too;)

Anyway, I'm thrilled to bits about Wiggles and Vegas!!

        Shimmy a lot Ladies!

        • What I really need is someone who lives in Vegas that wants to develop a "scene". If we had a more substantial "base" of local students to draw from, I'd be thrilled to sponsors more musicians on a regular basis. But there just isn't anyone who drives the music scene here.
          • I've been trying to develop a more cohesive scene here, and was surprised at the people who came out of the woodwork when I started setting up drum and music workshops. I didn't think I'd be able to find any aspiring ME musicians in the Phoenix area, but when I started setting up classes, people came out with stories like they play western violin/fiddle but always wanted to learn Arabic style. I actually met a lot of cool musicians here who I never knew existed, and they come to the workshops pretty regularly. Some even come from out of state because the classes are so hard to come by. There's a couple from Las Vegas who drives down to Phoenix to take Souhail's drum classes and drum solo dance classes when he's here. So you never know.
